Анотація. На основі аналізу внутрішніх документів європейських спільнот та праць істориків у статті висвітлюється значення та вплив енергетичної політики на розвиток Європейського Співтовариства (нині Європейський Союз) протягом періоду з 1951 р. по 1971 р. Стаття досліджує роль енергетичних питань у процесі формування спільного ринку та глибокої інтеграції між країнами-учасницями. Досліджується значення Паризької угоди про створення Європейського Співтовариства з вугільної та сталевої галузей, що лежала в основі економічної інтеграції. Стаття також розглядає укладення Римських договорів 1957 р., які передбачали створення спільного ринку з вільним рухом товарів, послуг, капіталу та праці, в тому числі і енергії як товару. Стаття аналізує створення Європейської спільної атомної енергетичної спільноти у 1957 р., яка спрямовувала зусилля на спільне використання ядерної енергії для мирних цілей та розвитку ядерної промисловості.
